Are press releases still relevant today with social media breaking news?
Yes as long as they are written correctly (short, concise and to the point whilst linking to social media profiles). They also need to be disseminated correctly (no need to use the ‘spray and pray’ method). We also include other industry news in a press release which allows the journalist reading it to collect information he/she otherwise would have had to research themselves – thus saving them time.
Which social media platform works best for your PR firm and why?
We are active across all the main social media platforms but have found that Twitter is by far the best platform to engage with industry insiders, new staff, media and potential staff. It is quick, relevant and informative and has become the new ‘go to’ news source for savvy consumers.
