The One&Only Reuben Riffel masterminds stellar evenings with cape greats

FOLLOWING the phenomenal success of last year’s gourmet extravaganza, Chef Reuben Riffel and his team at his restaurant at One&Only Cape Town have once again joined forces with some of South Africa’s finest wine estates and winemakers for a series of monthly wine and dine events throughout the year. Competition to join Chef Reuben on these occasions has been fierce, and he has selected the Cape’s finest to embark with him and sommelier Luvo Ntezo on a quest for the perfect food and wine-matches.

The results of their endeavours will then be served as a deluxe 5-course dinner to lucky diners at a regular event on the last Wednesday of the month. Hosted by the ever-delightful One&Only brand ambassador, Aubrey Ngcungama, guests can look forward to wonderful evenings in the company of great food and wine friends.

Starting the year off in award-winning style on the 25th February is Johan Kruger from Stellenbosch winery, Sterhuis. Johan has made wine at several famous estates over the years and the accolades awarded to this, his own venture, are testament to his immense winemaking talent. He is followed on 24th March by one of the legends of South African wine, Anthony Hamilton Russell and the team from Hamilton Russell Vineyards.  This cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde pioneer makes some of the finest Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs in the country and will entertain with tales of his travels spent spreading the word around the world.

The Reuben’s Wine and Dine evenings are priced at R395 per person for a 5-course menu with wine-pairing. Interest in this series of exclusive events is expected to be high and guests are urged to make their bookings as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
