Neethlingshof Strikes Gold At The International Wine & Spirits Competition

Neethlingshof has returned victorious following its latest success at the esteemed International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC). The historic Stellenbosch wine estate won five medals including one of the few gold medals too.

The gold medal was awarded to the Neethlingshof The Six Flowers 2013, which the panel described as “beautifully balanced with ripe fruit flavours developing all the while”. The judges advised that although the wine was “delightful” now, the patient wine-lover would be rewarded even more by allowing it to develop further with careful cellaring.

The estate’s other top achievers at IWSC 2014 were the Neethlingshof The Caracal 2011; Neethlingshof The Owl Post 2012; Neethlingshof Malbec 2012; and, Neethlingshof Gewurztraminer 2014.

The IWSC was founded in 1969 to promote the quality and excellence of the world’s best wines, spirits and liqueurs. It is regarded as the premier competition of its kind. The IWSC’s award winning South African, Chilean and Argentine wines were announced on September 10, on the first day of the Beautiful South Tasting at Olympia Central in London. They top performing wines will be showcased at a banquet in the city later this year.

Neethlingshof wines, including the award winners are available from the estate as well as at leading wine retailers countrywide.

Neethlingshof, a farm steeped in history going back 300 years, is part of the Cape Legends, an extensive collection of superlative quality, award-winning wines from several boutique estates situated in and around the Cape Winelands.
