Kriya Gangiah to host a new show on Ballz Radio

On Tuesday 4th September 2013, it was announced that Kriya Gangiah would executive produce and host a new business-orientated show on the popular SA online station, Ballz Radio. Gangiah made her first appearance on Ballz Radio alongside radio legend Ian F to help host the station’s second annual charity Golf Day in aid of their charity initiative, Wingz of Change.

Gangiah has years of experience in the broadcasting industry as a former presenter for a number of ETV’s youth channel programmes. She is known especially for her role on Sistahood, a show dedicated to inspiring young South African women, which she said her fond farewells to in June this year. Gangiah will also be drawing on her business experience for her new position on Ballz Radio having worked as an IT consultant for PriceWaterhouse Cooper over the past few years.

“I am just thrilled about becoming part of the Ballz team! This station is really at the forefront of what is happening in broadcasting in South Africa today and the ever-growing listenership proves this. I am very excited about presenting a completely new show and exploring some of my other business-related interests on air. Of course I am also really looking forward to working with radio royalty like Ian F, Sasha Martinengo and Darren Scott,” Gangiah exclaimed. Gangiah is looking forward to the challenges of engaging with her new more mature and business savvy audience in this next phase of her career.

According to Darren Scott (Anchor of Ballz Radio) the Ballz Radio team is delighted to welcome Gangiah on board. “We are thrilled about the new dynamic Kriya will bring to our team. She not only has years of experience in the South African broadcasting industry and boundless enthusiasm and energy, but  Kriya also has a good sports and business knowledge base to draw from as well,” Scott said.

Ballz Radio has been gaining a steady following since its launch in 2012 with an average listenership of 51 000 between 12:00 and 18:00 according to their streaming partner NetDynamix. The Wingz of Change charity initiative is on air every Thursday between 16:00 and 17:00. Wingz of Change, in association with the Mark Scott Trust and ER 24, aims to help one person in need every week and listeners are encouraged to nominate someone in need of help by contacting Wingz of Change directly.

According to Gangiah she could not think of a better way to have made her debut on Ballz Radio than co-hosting the Wingz of Change Golf Day. “I always look out for community upliftment projects that I can get involved with so it was great being part of this Golf Day that’s in aid of such a worthy cause,” she said.

Gangiah’s new show, “The Business”, created in conjunction with FNB and hosted by Ian F, is set to air on Ballz Radio on weekdays between 11:00 and 12:00 with a live recap broadcast presented by Gangiah between 18:00 and 19:00 every night and debuted on the 7th of October 2013.
