Jock Safari Explorer, two day walking safari

The Jock Explorer, two day walking safari, at Jock Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park, part of Shamwari Group, now offers adventure seekers wishing to explore the real, wild Kruger, a second mid-week safari during 2015.

The Explorer Camp operates during the cooler months with the first trail in April and the last trail at the end of October. In 2014 the Trails were offered on just Friday and Saturday nights but due to increasing interest and advanced bookings, Jock Explorer can now also be booked on a Tuesday and Wednesday night!

The Jock Safari Trails are conducted by two highly qualified Trail Guides that have more than 30 years of experience between them in Big 5 areas. As part of the two day walking safari trail, guests will now also be shown how to survive out in the African bush such as, learning how to make rope, shelter and fire, what to eat and skills on how not to be eaten, where to find water and navigation skills. This is not only great for family and friends but also makes a unique team building exercise for small groups.

The Explorer Camp at Jock Safari Lodge offers guests a unique experiential insight of a bygone era, a time when exploring really was an adventure into this unknown Big 5 wilderness, as did the legendary Percy Fitzpatrick in the 18th century.

The camp and tents have been meticulously recreated with the similar style camp beds, canvas washing basins, lanterns etc in order to transport guests back in time.
