Hansa Pilsener empowers T and X Styles with free advertising
What started as a New Year’s Day resolution to realise their own dreams ended up with Tamsyn MacDonald and Xiluva Khosa starting T and X Styles three months later.
Having known each other for ten years after studying fashion together, Tamsyn went on to create a couture line while Xiluva worked as a merchandiser and buyer for three years before they decided to combine forces and expertise to create T and X Styles in March 2013.
“We are both passionate about what we do and work well together. On New Year’s Day this year we decided it was time to realise our own dreams – we were tired of working for a boss,” said Tamsyn.
Hansa Pilsener has recognised the pair in their new Cheers to the Dreamers campaign, which seeks to acknowledge and celebrate entrepreneurs. The benefit for each small business is the free advertising they receive. Hansa General Manager Khensani Nobanda said that the passion and drive displayed by Tamsyn and Xiluva showed they were not afraid to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals. “They are real people sharing their story with all South Africans, and by giving them radio and outdoor advertising to access a larger audience and ultimately their target market, is one small way in which Hansa is able to assist them on their journey to success,” said Nobanda.
“We are super excited to have been recognised by Hansa and given this fantastic opportunity. Getting our name on the industry map has the potential of more work, the prospect of training people in our industry and paying it forward with job creation,” said Xiluva.
T and X Styles specialise in corporate wear, uniform design and manufacturing with uniforms supplied mainly to the hotel industry. Their motto is quality, quantity and consistency and sourcing the right manufacturer to work with who aligned with this motto was extremely important to them.
They consider themselves driven, passionate and committed. “If we could give one piece of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs it would be to work hard, be prepared to put in overtime but to still enjoy what you do – if you believe it, it can happen, said Tamsyn.
- T and X Styles have a radio advert on Lesedi FM and Motsweding FM, as well as an outdoor advertising space.
